No raw fish? Nine Midori rolls to order cooked

Edited by June J. Kim ·

Say “no raw fish” when you order one of the nine rolls below. Midori can prepare it cooked instead. Tell your server the roll name and your request when placing the order.

For example: “A Big Fire Roll with no raw fish, please. I’d like it cooked.”

Nine rolls you can request cooked

The menu descriptions below show the usual ingredients, including masago or tobiko. Your “no raw fish” request tells the kitchen to prepare the roll cooked. If you also want the fish roe left off, name that topping when you order.

What to say when ordering

For Big Fire Roll, which lists spicy tuna, say that you want the roll prepared with no raw fish. For Phoenix Roll, which lists salmon, red snapper and tuna, make the same request. Midori can cook the fish for you.

The fish roe has its own name on the menu: seven rolls list masago, Big Fire lists wasabi tobiko, and Red Dragon lists red tobiko. If you do not want roe, add “no masago” or “no tobiko” to your request.

For an online order, contact Midori to confirm the cooked preparation before placing it. You can call (512) 257-1411.

More choices without raw fish

You can also choose from the rolls listed without the raw marker, including California, Dragon and Sunset rolls. The cooked sushi guide brings those together with cooked kitchen dishes and starters.

If your table is sharing a Family Boat, remember that it includes sashimi and other raw items. A separate cooked roll gives someone who skips raw fish their own choice.

See the full Midori menu for current ingredients and prices. Tell your server about any other ingredient requests when you order.
